47 more days
...until you're home for the summer! Started off the morning with "apple-dap", "mee" and "keys" a.k.a applesauce, milk and cheese. Here's our little man asking for more milk.
After a quiet morning at home of laundry, dishes, some light sewing and Walker's nap, we headed out the door! Where were we going? I didn't know. Walker kept asking to "go inna kah" a.k.a. go in the car, so I just started driving. We ended up at North Park to see the water fountains.

On our way out, Walker spotted this hat at the Gap. So we tried it on. I thought about getting it for him until I saw the price tag. 22 bucks for a kid's hat? No sir! But I took a photo of it anyway. I know you can't really see it, but the hat is covered in orange crabs. By the way, Walker can say orange now - although it sounds more like "ahnge".
Back at home we cranked up some Michael Jackson. Here's a video of Walker spinning to "Beat It". Pretty funny stuff.

Sweet Day at Home
Hi Jack! Slow day at home today. Walker woke up at 7:15 this morning and spent some time rolling around in our bed. Waking up is hard to do.

Then we spent some time on the patio before the Dallas heat set in. Can you believe it got to 100 degrees today? Ugh.

Then we had some quiet time and took artsy self portraits.

Then we got kind of goofy.

After our morning at home and a long nap, we headed out to meet Cici for her birth center appointment and an early dinner at Le Cubanita where Walker ate his weight in black beans, rice and plantains. Back at home, we spent an hour alternating between our new rocking horse and Richard Scary's "Trucks and Cars and Things That Go".

We love you, Jack and Miss you big time! Can't wait to see you in 8 days! Yipee!

On Call
Crazy day. After spending the morning at Cici's, hanging curtains in her baby's nursery, I was called into the birth center. The Smiths came to the rescue and spent the afternoon with Walker. Here's a little photo tour of their time together! Below is Walker having an early dinner.
Ashley took Walker down to the pool for a dip! Anne caught this moment from our balcony.
Meanwhile, Miss Mackey was stretching out on the floor.
Cici sent us home with this cool little rocking horse. Its on loan until baby Roscoe is ready to take his turn! Walker loves this thing.
Even though he's already eaten, Walker is REALLY interested in Macky's dinner.
Oh well... I guess he'll have to wait until Mama gets home!

Slacker
Dear Jack - I know this is not news to you, but I'm a slacker. Today, I forgot to take the camera with me. Every time Walker did something cute or said something funny or scaled a piece of furniture, I'd reach for the camera and realize that I'd left it in the car, in the house, on the charger, etc.
So here's the skinny sans photos: This morning, W and I met Cecilia for a trip to IKEA. She painted her baby's nursery and needed some curtains and other essential decor items. Then we came home for a long nap. I took one as well. Then we headed out once again to attend a birthday party for the Hayes twins who have just turned one. Can you believe it? One year old already! Luckily Alison and Aubrey were there with the kids and they ALWAYS have their cameras at the ready. Alison's a much better photographer than I am, so this will work out in our favor for sure!
We miss you and can't wait to see you for a few days next week. (Sigh.)
So, as promised, here are Alison's photos from yesterday's birthday party. Thanks Alison! They're amazing! ...and thank you for letting me hold Miss Eleanor. I wanted to take her home with us.

Climb Every Mountain
Easy breezy Saturday in Dallas. We spent the morning playing with Walker's big Lego blocks. I picked up this metal bucket to store all of pieces a few days ago.

We did a little yard sale-ing and then hit the pool with our new starfish floaty. Walker had a blast. We stayed in the water for almost an hour and would have stayed longer if it hadn't started raining. Dallas is famous for it's summer storms.

This evening, I had a beer and cooked dinner while Walker played by himself in the living room.
Our dear friend, Cecilia came over for dinner and Walker spent the evening trying on her shoes.

Cecilia and I were sitting in the living room lost in conversation when we realized that a few minutes had passed with no sign of Walker. Silence is always a bad sign. We peeked into his bedroom and found him sitting on top of his changing table holding a bottle of Vaseline in one hand and a bottle of teething tablets in the other. I was a little shocked that he had scaled the table so quietly and quickly. I caught him climbing up again a few minutes later. It's on video below.

Down Time
Dear Jack,
Today was calm and lovely. The weather was weird, balmy and threatening rain, so we opted to stay inside. And after yesterday's marathon day, it was a welcome change. Below is a photo of Walker having just CLIMBED out of his crib. Yes... he has done it. He's a little monkey!
My friend Susan came over around 10:30 with her fabulous kids, Katie and J for some playtime and an on-again, off-again viewing of The Incredibles. Here is a shot of Walker squeezing his way in to Katie's book. The look on her face is awesome. She's thinking "like, excuse you".
"Tennis balls, my liege."
Then, Walker crashed for a record breaking nap. Three hours and forty-five minutes! I went in to check on him repeatedly to make sure he wasn't dead.
After a chicken dinner complete with sweet potatoes, we brushed our teeth! And brushed, and brushed, and brushed....
Of course, we didn't want to stop brushing, so we took our brush with us into the bathtub.

Walker got really interested in the water faucet.
52 more days until you are home for the summer. Not that I'm counting. We love you - your babies.
