The Youngest Member of the Wedding

We just returned from sunny St. Petersburg, where our dear friend Charlie married his one true love, Christine. Here's Walker in the back of our rental car showing off his Obama diaper wipes. Wedding guest Teresa Thuman suggested we market the wipes with this slogan: "Obama wipes - He's gonna clean this place up!"

Below is groom holding Walker's new best friend, Louis.

Below is Walker meeting Charlie's bride, Christine. Isn't she lovely? Walker certainly thought so.

Below is a video of Charlie and Walker getting their feet wet and possibly damaging a high end camera.

Just My Size

We had an early Christmas present arrive in the mail on Thursday! Walker has his very own kid-sized chair! And he loves it to bits and is in and out of it all day long. The best part is when he points to his embroidered name on the chair and says "awka". No, he's not reading... just repeating like a good little monkey.

The Pajama Game

Walker has some new PJs for the holiday season. Bucking broncos seemed appropriate for our little cowboy. Here he is, all warm and cozy.

Friends for life!

Ooooh I love my Grammie Betsy...
and all the games we play!

Play, Play, Play

Its been a wonderful few days of silliness and play with Gramie Betsy. Walker loves producing small stuffed birds out of a bird house. He reaches deep inside and then - POW - he lifts the bird high up for all to see. He's also a big fan of our local swing set!

Happy FIRST Birthday!

Walker turned ONE yesterday! I cannot believe a year has passed so quickly. Our little man is taking steps unassisted, popping teeth and talking up a whirlwind of half-articulated words. We celebrated the birthday at a park adjacent to the Birth Center where Walker was born. We picnicked with friends, took turns on the swings and ate cupcakes - Walker's first crack at refined sugar!!! Here are some shots from the day!

We had a great group of friends join us for Walker's birthday celebration. Here are the happy kiddos high on cupcakes!

Autumn at the Arboretum

Grandma Betsy is in town so we thought we'd head to the Dallas Arboretum for a little taste of Autumn! Walker was most impressed with the water features - particularly a huge stone toad with a spout of water shooting from its mouth. Here are some photos from our day out.

Big Wheels for a Big Boy

Walker is stoked about his new truck - a birthday gift from Uncle Gil, Aunt Maura and the kids. Below are photos of Walker playing with it this morning in the living room.

Knock, knock

If you've spent any time at the Greenman house in the last year, you know that Walker has been a chatterbox since day one. But between Jack and me, is it any surprise that he's a talker? Walker has been compiling a vocabulary of about 7 or 8 words now that he uses on a regular basis: Up, Out, MaMa, Dada, truck (or rather, "guck"), Knock-knock ("gock-gock"), Ball and Apple. And lately he's been pointing out cups and saying "Bup". So we're thrilled that he's well on his way to telling knock knock jokes about balls and cups!

Happy halloween from your lost boy!

PETER PAN:
Are you ready for today's lesson?
ALL:
Yes, Peter!
PETER PAN:
Listen to your teacher. Repeat after me:
I won't grow up,
I don't want to go to school.
Just to learn to be a parrot,
And recite a silly rule.
If growing up means
It would be beneath my dignity to climb a tree,
I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up
Not me!
Not I,
Not me!
Not me!

I won't grow up,
I don't want to wear a tie.
And a serious expression
In the middle of July.
And if it means I must prepare
To shoulder burdens with a worried air,
I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up
Not me,
Not I,
Not me!
So there!

I won't grow up.
Not a penny will I pinch.
I will never grow a mustache,
Or a fraction of an inch.
'Cause growing up is awfuller
Than all the awful things that ever were.
I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up,
No sir,
Not I,
Not me,
So there!

I won't grow up!
I will never even try
I will do what Peter tells me
And I'll never ask him why.

We won't grow up!
We will never grow a day
And if someone tries to make it
We will simply run away.

I won't grow up!
No, I promise that I won't
I will stay a boy forever
And be banished if I don't!

And Never Land will always be
The home of beauty and joy
And neverty!
I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up
Not me!
Not me!
Not me!
Not me!
No sir!
Not me!
