Buzz

Here we are enjoying a little time at the park on Wednesday morning before the crazy heat set in. We've been mostly hiding in our house, drinking pitchers of iced tea and planning for our next trip. But yesterday morning, the temperature was below 95 degrees, so we thought Walker might enjoy blowing off a little steam. He really dug this little rocking bee:

Tonight, while the Smiths were over for dinner, Jack and Mackey got to catch up. She has grown SO much. I love that she's getting that sweet baby pudge we all love to nibble on!

Tomorrow we take off for the East Coast. I will not be posting here until mid-August because we aren't taking our computers with us. But not to worry... we'll have a re-cap of the trip when we return! Cheers all and safe summer. See you on the flip side.

The Rose Wedding

Yay! Our long wait is OVER! Jack, Walker and I are all back home and together again! I think we weathered the two months very well. Jack's shows are all open and running at the Utah Shakespearean Festival and Walker and I are home safe and sound from the West Coast. Thanks to everyone who helped our family through the separation. Our next big job is to pack and leave once again for the East Coast - but this time, TOGETHER!

Walker and I finished our time in Seattle by attending the wedding of some sweet thespian friends, Erynn and Courtney Rose. Courtney and I met in college at Southern Oregon University. The couple also played Orsino and Viola in my "Twelfth Night" back in 2005. It was wonderful to spend some time on Puget Sound with old friends, many of whom I had not seen since leaving SOU in 1998. A very groovy day all around.

A Boy, A Park, A Room, A Balloon

JACK! Its your last day of work! By the time you read this post, you'll be in Las Vegas headed home to Dallas! I'm so excited I just peed a little. I hope that you had a safe trip on the shuttle and that all your flight stuff goes smoothly. We can't wait to see you on Monday, but until then... here is some eye candy from today's exploits. First we started at Volunteer Park in the sand and on the toys.

After a long nap, Walker decided to get crazy on the couch with his yellow balloon. Forgive all the photos, but the progression here is wonderful. I think we need to get this kid into a gymnastics class.

Then I spent a few hours rearranging your mother's furniture. Her den, while lovely and cozy and totally functional, needed a little more space. For those of you who haven't been to Betsy's, this will mean nothing. But for those of you who have... enjoy!

Wawah and Guitah

Betsy, Walker and I walked to a neighborhood water spot so that Walker could run around and get wet. No matter where I go, the Dallas heat seems to follow. Its been pretty warm the last few days. But I'll take Seattle's 85 degree heat over Dallas' 85 any day. Here's Walker using his favorite form of public transportation.

Walker has been gaga over Grammie Betsy's little guitar, so she put on a video of James Taylor for inspiration. Needless to say, he was VERY interested.

Corvette by the Sea

Hi Jack! Ooooh... I wish you could be with us today. Grammie Betsy took Walker and I to a rocky beach along the sound today. Walker had fun throwing rocks and testing his balance. It was a clear, gorgeous day with a light breeze and I wish I could bottle the sweet salt smell for later. Here's our little explorer below:









Yesterday, we hung out with Betsy's dear friend, Vincent and his son, Victor. Vincent took Walker for a ride in his yellow corvette. Then, Walker decided to drive it himself. How will we ever top that? His baby book will read:

"First smile - 2 weeks
First tooth - 7 months
First step - 11 months
First corvette - 19 months"

Walker also sat in this oldie-but-goodie for a quick turn at the wheel.

At dinner, Vincent taught Walker a spoon trick. W said Victor's name, but couldn't quite say Vincent's name, so he dubbed him "Ent". And for those of you who know both Vincent and the Ents from Lord of the Rings, you know that Walker could not have picked a more appropriate name.
