Feast Day

Today, Walker's preschool class celebrated Feast Day at school.  Each child brought a yummy food to share at the feast.  Walker's class dressed as Native Americans and a neighboring class came as Pilgrims.  Walker came home with a full belly, a paper head dress and a laminated turkey whose feathers showcased all the things Walker is grateful for this holiday season.

"Happy Thanksgiving!"

Miss Carolyn, Walker's teacher, also sent me this cute photo of Walker in class today.  They had a visit from the local fire department and the kids were invited to try on some real fire fighter gear.  You know who was happy to oblige.

We took advantage of this gorgeous fall day
and headed to T&P Park along White Rock Lake.

The All Day Birthday Party

We had a BIG day yesterday, filled with lots of friends and yummy treats.  We kicked off the morning with a gift from Pa Obbie and Grandma Happy, which Walker played with all morning.  Here he is - Fire Chief Greenman.  (This kid loves a costume!)

Then Walker hosted his preschool class in the morning for a play date, which included snacks and an art project.  The kids had a great time while we parents relaxed, drank coffee and watched the kiddos.

Here are the completed art canvases!  Didn't they do a beautiful job?
The canvases are 5"x 5", covered in bleeding tissue paper.
To finish the job, I sealed them with Modge Podge.

After a few hours of quiet time, we took the kids to Abbott Park for play time with some old friends. Again, we served snacks and red velvet cake and cake pops.  And again, the adults were able to relax and shoot the breeze, while the kids wore themselves out on the playground.  (Many of the photos - the really good ones - were taken by Alison Power.)

Thank you everyone for spending Walker's fourth birthday with us!
