Bunk Beds
Two determined grandmothers can do anything! Thank you Happy for the awesome bunk bed and thank you Grandma Betsy for the mattresses! We have two very happy boys on our hands. Yesterday we dismantled the white nursery furniture and made the "big boy" transition. Here's a look at the new digs.

Bathing Beauty
Charlie has been pulling out all the stops lately, but tonight be insisted on sitting alone in the tub. Then he grabbed a cup, filled it with some nasty dirty bath water and drank it. I have been trying to get him feed himself from a cup all summer - but nooooooo. He waits until he's sitting in his own filth to perfect the task. But I have to admit, this kid is growing up fast. Isn't he beautiful? He has Grandma Betsy's eyes!

Downtown Boys
Today, the boys and I spent a lot of time downtown. We filled our morning and early afternoon hours with exhibits at the Perot Museum. There was lots of experimenting and interactive play for Walker and Charlie enjoyed watching a tour of our galaxy on a circular surround screen. Every time the film would zoom from one planet to another (warp speed style), Charlie would yell "weeeeeee!"
Then, from 6-8pm, we headed back downtown with Griffin to Klyde Warren Park for a sno-cone and a walk through the children's park. It was 108 degrees at 6pm so we managed to stay in the shade with our icy treats. The fun continued when a solo guitarist took the outdoor stage and 7pm. Charlie loved the live music and clapped along, while Walker danced himself into a sweaty heap. A good time was had by all.
