First Day of School 2015

These two boys are ready for school!

Walker is starting 2nd grade this year in Mrs. Wineberg's class.

Charlie is starting kindergarten with Mrs. Rubino.

Downtown Boys

Today, the boys and I spent a lot of time downtown. We filled our morning and early afternoon hours with exhibits at the Perot Museum. There was lots of experimenting and interactive play for Walker and Charlie enjoyed watching a tour of our galaxy on a circular surround screen. Every time the film would zoom from one planet to another (warp speed style), Charlie would yell "weeeeeee!"

Then, from 6-8pm, we headed back downtown with Griffin to Klyde Warren Park for a sno-cone and  a walk through the children's park. It was 108 degrees at 6pm so we managed to stay in the shade with our icy treats. The fun continued when a solo guitarist took the outdoor stage and 7pm. Charlie loved the live music and clapped along, while Walker danced himself into a sweaty heap. A good time was had by all.

Dogs & Softball

Happy brought out the gloves and ball last night and gave Walker a great first catching lesson. He was all smiles when after a few tries, he caught his first ever softball in a glove! Griffin has also been enjoying his time at the farm. He and Walker have had lots of snuggle time.

Nature Camp in Halfway, OR

This is Walker's second year at Art & Nature Camp in Oregon. This day camp is the brainchild of Ruai and Forest Gregory, a couple who live on 60 acres of forested, creek-fed land just outside of Halfway, OR. Ruai is a teacher and she and her husband Forest live a back-to-the-land kind of life, which includes a handmade home, orchard, garden and land stewardship program. Today, Mama got to tag along and take some photos of the kids during camp.
