Pizza and Cookies

Today, after a quick trip to Old Navy to get bathing suits for the boys, we visited some friends for a play date.  We met the Vaughn Family through Walker's preschool.  Eli is in Walker's class and Charlotte is Charlie's age.  Their mother, Natalie, has become a good friend and their whole family is just lovely.  And Natalie makes such good chocolate chip cookies that I would swear they're laced with something addictive.  We were joined by another couple of kiddos, which made for a fun, multi family play date.

Walker found a new hat at Old Navy just like his green hat, which is too small for him now.  For 6 bucks, I couldn't pass it up.  Walker found this net and started looking for butterflies.

After a dip in the kiddie pool, Walker enjoyed a few slices of cheese pizza.

This is Charlotte, having just woken from her afternoon nap.  She and Charlie are the same age.

Charlie became very focused on something...  sometimes he gets this look and "checks out" for a bit.  This is the face that our neurologist does not like to see.  Sometimes its hard to get his attention when he's like this.  But then, he "returns" and continues as if nothing has happened.  I don't really worry about it very much, especially since his most recent EEG didn't show seizure activity.

Here he is, checking out all the older kids with their pizza.

Here come the cookies!

Here is a photo of Eli, Walker's bud from school.

Walker's School Work

These came home from school on Thursday:

I love that I'm 6 years old and green juice is my favorite food.  (I am kind of an addict.)

Below, Walker was asked to draw his favorite moment from the week and Walker drew his "favoritest moment ever".  The title in the corner is "My Dad Sharing Ice Cream".

Walker's plan for Mother's Day

When I asked Walker where he wanted to take me for Mother's Day, he was quick to come up with a plan.  After picking up a chocolate glazed donut for Walker at Krispy Kreme, we headed to his favorite park for an hour of play time.  Here are the results:

Look at this boy.  He's a hot mess with the snot and chocolate and smirk all in one!

And this one is a hot mess too with waterfall of drool. Poor guy.

Family Photos for Mother's Day

These family photos were taken sometime in March - I can't quite remember when.  We hosted the Szkorla Family (friends and former doula clients) for dinner and they brought their beautiful baby girl and their camera!  Monica snapped these amazing photos and I'm so grateful that she did.  I had almost forgotten about the impromptu photo session until a disc arrived in the mail yesterday!  Monica - thank you for these beautiful photos.  They are priceless.  Happy Mother's Day to ME!

A Morning with Harper Ann

Today Walker hosted a friend from his preschool class.  They're actually kind of a thing.  According to their teacher, Walker and Harper Ann are always together - two peas in a pod.  Walker has been begging me to schedule a play date with Harper Ann so that he "won't have to share her".   So Harper Ann's mom, Leslie, and I decided that they needed to get together before Walker leaves for Utah.  When she first arrived, Harper Ann, usually gregarious and chatty, was quiet and very shy.  But as soon as their play date was winding down, she stepped out and made the most of her remaining time with Walker.  Here are some quick photos from their date.

Charlie got in on the action too!
