Snuggles and Salsa

We here at the Greenman residence are big on snuggles and cuddles of all sorts.  If we were paid by the hug, we'd all be gajillionaires. Here are some photos Jack took last night of our hug-fest.

I met a client for a post-partum appointment in Frisco last night, and instead of spending the whole evening in rush hour traffic by myself, the family joined me.  We stayed out of traffic by enjoying dinner at La Hacienda Ranch - a Texas sized joint with amazing Tex-Mex fare and more taxidermy than anyone should be comfortable with.

Walker wanted to know if this was Charlie's Fighting Bear.

Sharing a Room

Today, we moved Charlie into Walker's room.  We added Charlie's crib and changing table as well as our blue wing back chair for nursing and reading.  Walker was eager to share a room with Charlie, but tonight before bed, he got cold feet and asked if we could move the crib back into our room.  So, we'll see how this transition goes.  Walker is a champion sleeper and used to sleeping alone.  It will probably take a few nights (or weeks) to get the hang of it... but we're all optimistic.  Wish us luck!

We also took Walker and Charlie to Coffee Park today.  The weather was clear and the temperature was in the high 50's - probably the warmest we'll see all week.  Here's a shot that Jack caught of Walker:

He LOVES it!

Solid Food!

This week marked the beginning of solid food consumption for Charlie Fighting Bear.  He's definitely one of us - loves food, loves eating, loves the interaction, loves everything about it.  Here we are enjoying that old baby food stand-by, sweet potatoes.

Daddy is back to work this week, enjoying the new semester at SMU.  But he still has lots of time in the late afternoon and evening to canoodle with his boys.  Check out Charlie's head control and connected eye contact in these photos!  Yipee-tie-yay!

Uncle Billy and Aunt Janice

Billy and Janny stopped by yesterday for a quick visit.  They're on a road trip headed west from Atlanta and made some time to visit the Dallas kiddos!  Charlie was very taken with Aunt Janny and spent the entire visit happily in lap dozing in and out of sleep.  Uncle Billy made Walker the happiest boy this side of the Mississippi by gifting him with a Loctite train set.  24 hours later, Walker is still shimmering with excitement and gratitude.

Art and Heart

Walker did some more painting this week.
I think this is one of my favorite pieces!

...and Charlie had his appointment with his Cardiologist this morning.  The news is good.  Real good.  The Doc did another echocardiogram to assess the state of his heart murmur and his enlarged PFO.  Both of these issues have diminished so much so that the doctor has categorized Charlie's heart (the organ, that is) as "normal".  These issues have almost righted themselves and the doctor is confident that Charlie will simply grow out of them completely.  The doctor will write a letter to Charlie's other specialists explaining that he has a clean bill of health where the heart is concerned and that Charlie has the "all clear" for craniofacial surgery.  The doctor also said that he sees no need to examine Charlie again. So, we're checking that off the list and taking Charlie's cardiologist off of the payroll.  Yippee!

Little Stars

Charlie and Walker were goofing around on Walker's bed before nap time today, so I thought I'd catch a few photos.  Charlie has been consistently sleeping through the night now for months so we're considering moving Charlie out of our bedroom and into Walker's.  We've talked with Walker about sharing a room with Charlie and he's definitely on board as long as Charlie knows that Walker was there first.
