Summer Smoothie

Terrin and I each enjoyed a frappucino today and Walker was, of course, very interested in having a sip. We explained that he could not have any because they were made of coffee. So, Walker requested one without the forbidden ingredient. I quickly whipped up a berry / banana smoothie and he LOVED it, as evidenced by the following:

Walker even learned the word, "delicious"!

Splash Park

These were taken on Saturday by my friend, Alison. Walker spent about an hour running and splashing through the waterways and sprinklers of a local water park. He was a little trepidatious at first, but really got into it once he saw how much fun the other kids were having.

The Trolley with Terrin!

We thought we'd beat the heat and hop on one of Dallas' air conditioned trolleys. Of course, we were picked up by the only one that hasn't been converted for air. Poor pregnant mama. Poor Terrin. Walker didn't seem to mind one way or the other. Luckily, it wasn't treacherously hot - just uncomfortable. But once the trolley got going, the breeze kicked up and a good time was had by all!

And here are our new neighbors.
These photos were taken through our front door window.

And here is what Daddy's been up to lately!

Painting with Friends

Yesterday, we hosted our weekly play date and let the kids pull out some paint! They had a blast! Also, cousin Terrin is visiting from California and got to experience the craziness first hand. She jumped right in with all the mamas and crazy kiddos - gosh, she must love us! Here are some favorite photos from the day.

After painting, Walker invited everyone into his bedroom for a pretend nap:

Rainy Day Art

This is how we spend 45 minutes of our morning these days... greeting Daddy on the computer screen. Skype is the most genius invention ever. I love that we can talk to Pa John in Scotland or Daddy in Utah free of charge. Its AWESOME!

After Walker's nap we decided that a little art project was in order. I have been hanging onto some canvases for a rainy day. It wasn't raining, but we were certainly in the mood for some painting. However, by the time Walker was through with his masterpieces, a storm had rolled in. Now its raining cats and dogs. Walker loves to hear the thunder, which he claims he can see. I believe him! Anyhow, here are some shots of him steeped in the creative process and a video of his painting technique, which he calls "dotting".

Here are Walker's finished paintings set out to dry.

Videos from Scotland

Here are three short videos I took of Walker on our trip. The first is from the Banff Arts Festival. Walker cuts a rug to some fiddle music. The second is of Walker playing at the sea shore in Fraserburgh. The third is of Walker tossing stones into a creek near the mouth of Glen Coe. Just click the arrow to see and hear the videos.
