The Wee Scotsman
Dear Jack - Walker wants me to tell you that his morning routine is pretty boring without you around - mostly because (and I'm quoting here) Mama is not nearly as fun or as inventive or as patient or as cool as you are in the morning. So there you have it. Here's a few photos of Walker trying to entertain me at the breakfast table while the coffee kicks in. (Mine, not his. Don't worry, I'm not giving him coffee.)

After two cups of Jo and a nap for Walker, he tried on the new pants I whipped up for him. I found some red and white seersucker in the men's shirting section of JoAnn's! Here are the results:

A package arrived today from bonny Scotland. Grandpa John has been a busy bee. Everything is a little large, which is great! He'll be able to wear this for a few years! Check out our wee laddie - He looks like the littlest river dancer in the photo below! Thank you Dad, what a wonderful gift!

And of course, the endless brushing! Grandma Happy had a great idea: we need to get a kitchen timer in there on the counter. Give him 5 or 10 minutes and when it dings, we're done!

Hats Off
Hi Jack! Hi Family! Hi Village!
After a crazy morning (Mama is not used to doing the morning routine) and a quick nap, Walker took me to the zoo to meet with his best buds. The Dallas Zoo has their seasonal butterfly exhibit and we wanted to catch a glimpse. Here is Walker on the butterfly bench with the ladies, Emmawyn and Mackenzie.

Mosely and Lily got in on the action too!
Lunch at the cafeteria. Yum.
Then we headed toward the children's play area so the tots could cool off in a fake - but kind of real - stream. Walker borrowed Emmawyn's embroidered hat.
James Charles decided on the sans hat option.
Walker kept finding his way to his favorite stroller. This stroller shows up at all of our play dates and its like watching Jason strapped to the mast. The little steering wheel - calling to him, singing the song of the siren. Well, today was Walker's lucky day because this stroller is now ours. The previous owners have a love hate relationship with this stroller because it doesn't really fit in their car. So, they're getting a new one!
After a whopper of a nap (2-4:30) Walker got into Mama's hat box. I think this one looks particularly smashing.
After a quick dinner of scrambled eggs with cheese. Walker was off to the bathroom for a half-hour teeth brushing marathon. He's an obsessive little bugger, isn't he?

He's Getting Into Everything!
Only 55 more days until the third Musketeer is home for the summer! Jack, if our time apart is going to be anything like today, then its going to FLY! The morning was easy and lively as usual. However, Walker decided to pull out the stops this afternoon by trying to climb out of his crib. He would have done it, too, if I hadn't intervened. Ugh. Please God do not force me to create a new sleeping situation. Also, we've been hiding the diaper pale on top of the changing table to deter Walker from sifting through his own poo. YUCK! Well, today he dragged his activity block over to the table and used it as a step stool to climb aboard the top shelf of the changing table. Again, I thwarted his efforts, but he's only going to get more efficient and more silent as the days progress. Finally, I caught Walker climbing in the side board and scolded him. His response was to show me his belly button. "Oh crap, I'm in trouble. Quick! Distract her with a game."

Then we spent some time rolling around on Grandma Happy's beloved truck towel.
We met Anne, Ashley and Baby Mackey for lunch today to celebrate her 6th week of life! When we got in the car and drove away I heard a little voice from the back seat say, "Bye baby Mimi." Love it! Here's Ashley and Walker enjoying some table time! (Oh... and Walker kept calling the waiter "Gil".)

I was making dinner in the kitchen and heard Walker's distress call. I walked into his room and found this:

Don't worry, Jack. Everything is going to be just fine. I can handle this. We missed you and hope you have a great BBQ tonight. Enjoy the design presentations! They are always so much fun!

Utah or Bust
Our morning eating rocks on the back porch while Daddy packed for Utah.

Jack is currently en route to Cedar City for the Utah Shakespearean Festival's summer season! This, of course, is great news. But right now, I'm feeling pretty cruddy because I wish there were a way for us all to be together. Walker and I are staying in Dallas and the best way to share our day with Dad is to post here on the blog! So please join us for the next 7 weeks while we close the gap with letters and photos for Jack! Here are the boys saying goodbye.
At the airport.
Sad face.
Dear Dada,
We know you had a safe flight to Utah and are now perched on the edge of a dining chair or a cafe couch with a cup of coffee viewing our blog! After we got home from the airport, we had dinner and a bath. Baby boy was too excited about brushing his teeth to stay in the tub, so we moved right to the brushing portion of the evening. Bed by 6pm and wishing lots of love and success as you begin your first day in rehearsals!
