Both of our boys were blessed as infants in Cayucos by Vena Norton. But now that we've landed at First UU in Dallas, Jack and I decided to have both boys dedicated in the church. This is not a baptism, but a commitment ceremony that takes place between the congregation and UU children. Walker and Charlie were dedicated on Sunday, December 18th.
We had Charlie's wheel chair ready to go, but when we offered it to him, he firmly said, "No" and rose to his feet. He wanted to walk! Here is a video of the ceremony for your enjoyment:
I so wish that we could have been there! It's so hard to miss these events, in the boys lives. I am, however, grateful that you are able to share them with us on video. Thank you, and congratulations Walker and Charlie! We are very proud of the young men you are becoming. Love you bunches. Pa Obbie and Happy
Thank you for posting this. It is awesome that you all have this community to engage with and be supported by. You have already given and received much from them. Good for Walker and Charlie (and Mom and Dad) to manage the logistics of over 10 minutes of being in front, listening attentively and watching for what the next step may be!!! Love you all, and loved seeing you 'live'-ish. xoxoxo
