Piano Man

I always thought Walker would be the one who would take to the keyboard. But I think Charlie B will be the pianist in the family.  This kid is in love with the keys. Yesterday, he was experimenting with volume, touch and rhythm.  It was such fun to watch him play!

The Smith Family Visits Dallas!

The Smiths rolled into town yesterday afternoon for a short Dallas visit!  Anne and Ashley and Cashel all just had birthdays (Mackey's is in a week or so) and they decided to celebrate with a little Texas trip!
Here are Mackey and Walker together for a forced photo shoot. They loosened up after a fart joke from Mom.

And here they are in the same window when we first moved into the house!

And Mr. Cashel in train heaven!

Uncle Fred to the Rescue!

This morning at 8am, my Uncle Fred knocked on our back door, coffee in his hands and work boots on his feet.  He's on his way home to Florida from California and stopped in for the day to help Charlie Bear forge a wheelchair pathway through the back yard.  Uncle Fred spent the day busting out a low brick wall and tearing nasty Texas bushes out of the ground.  Now, we can get Charlie through the back and into the house without a hassle!  Next up?  Uncle Fred has called on his friends at the local Elks Lodge to lay a new cement walk and cut out a new gate entry to further facilitate life with Charlie's wheel chair!  THANK YOU UNCLE FRED!

Boys, don't fight or play with guns...

1988 was a good year.  Your Dad was in grad school and your mom was in the fifth grade.  Here are some photos of your ol' papa on stage in "Golden Boy" during his years at UC Irvine.  P.S. Don't fight or play with guns.

Post-Pool Crazies

Here are the boys just after a swim at the Natatorium in Allen, TX.  Note Walker's purple lips.  The water was COLD!  Charlie was very happy splashing around in the zero entry baby pool and Walker wanted to risk the deep end (with a life jacket of course).
