Sun Therapy

The boys and I are all in the midst of being a little sick.  Charlie and I are just kind of juicy and snotty and Walker has an ear infection.  But this morning, we decided to spend a little time outside.  It was sunny and cool and we were all in a good mood.  So why not?

Thanksgiving Weekend

We've had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday and hope you have too!  We installed Charlie's new swing on Friday and it has been met with big enthusiasm.  Here are a few shots of Charlie in the sling swing!

I spent the majority of Thanksgiving morning cooking (and drinking) while the boys enjoyed the new swing.  This year, I cracked open Julia Child's Art of French Cooking to prepare her garlic mashed potatoes. This Thanksgiving marked what would have been Ms. Child's 100th birthday!

Table setting complete...

We had our neighbors, the Wiley Family, over for the Thanksgiving feast. They had a small change of plans for the holiday and happily accepted our invitation.  The Wileys have two boys, Liam (2) and Colin (5), and we do lots of child care swapping! Look at Jack's expert turkey skills...

Colin and Walker await their bird and potato plates.

Today, Charlie and I met Lori for our standing Monday physical therapy appointment and I took a few shots of seasonal color around the garden.

We also had a chance to put up our Christmas tree yesterday morning.  This year, we've moved our tree from the living room to the front window in the dining room.  Why not share the season with the whole neighborhood?

Unfortunately, all wonderful weekends must come to a close.  And today, we got a call from Walker's preschool. He was sick with an ear infection and needed to come home immediately.  Jack left work and retrieved the patient.  Here he is, crashed out in our bed with his beloved stuffed Dalmatian, Chowder.  Don't worry, we've already got him on a round of antibiotics.  He'll be ship-shape in no time!

Curbside

Yesterday, the boys and I spent a little time in the front yard enjoying the gorgeous weather.  Here are some random shots from that hour.  (Today is Thanks giving and I will certainly be posting pics and stories tomorrow.)

Howdy Pilgrim

The boys had a great weekend.  Charlie spent lots of time trying to figure out how in the world to make his rocking horse GO.  He's getting there!  The best part is that he has to use all his core muscles to stay centered in his saddle.

And here's a great shot of him using that stubborn left hand.  His freedom of use has been much improved in the past few weeks.  We don't know why - but he's working that hand SO hard these days.  It's as if he knows it's not behaving and doing what he wants it to do.

Walker has the following week off of preschool to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday.  But before he left class on Friday, his friends all make pilgrim hats and enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast.

Oh, and this morning, this happened:

"Legos are my life"

Words from a thrilled five year old. Thank you all for the wonderful lego sets that arrived for Walker's birthday.  Here is Walker hard at work on a helicopter from Grandpa John and Grandma Patty.  He is totally blissed out.
