It was gorgeous today. 80 degrees. And if it hadn't been for the mosquitoes, it would have been perfect. Walker spent some time watering his vegetables and Charlie looked on while in the swing. I took the momentary lull to snap some photos of our happy little garden.
This mallow tree used to be in the center of our lawn. Grammie Happy helped us transplant it at the beginning of Autumn last year to a sunny corner against the back fence. It was in quite a bit of shock and we weren't sure it would come back this spring. Just when I thought she was done for... POP. Beautiful fresh green leaves abound.
I love this little blue bucket that I spray painted last year. This season, it holds a bushel of Spanish Lavender. Oh, the scent! Heavenly.
And more petunias along the back wall tucked away with a little cherry tomato plant, courtesy of Alison Power's Mama Gail. Thank you Gail!

Swingers
Its Wednesday and the boys are both having a great week so far. Hump day is always a nice break between preschool and therapy sessions. Yesterday we spent the afternoon at the nature and science museum viewing the new SHARK exhibition. Walker was "a little scared but not too much" by the enormous screens filled with deep sea divers and sharks of all kinds. But generally a good time was had by all. Today, we took a picnic to White Rock Lake and enjoyed a spin on the swings. Charlie is now consistently recognizing the sign for "swing". Such a smart boy!

While you were sleeping...
P.S. Pay no attention to the Santa bib - it was the only clean one in the house and Charlie is a drooling fool these days as his lower molars are coming in.

Last Day with G. John and G. Patty
The Greenman Family is back down to the immediate four now that Grandpa John and Grandma Patty have returned to Williamsburg, Virginia. We spent our last day together swinging at Coffee Park and strolling around the many buildings at Fair Park in Downtown Dallas. Here are some photos from our day...

Vegetable Garden
Today, we made a vegetable garden in our back yard. It was a family affair. Grandpa John and Grandma Patty cleared the debris, Mommy and Walker built the box, Daddy filled it with soil, Patty and I decided what plants went where and the end product was a lovely well planned, raised bed! Let the growing season begin!
I decided to put it where the tree was removed this winter.
Its a big bright open space just asking to be filled!
Of course, I invited my little garden gods to participate (see below).
And here it is, all finished. Cross your fingers!
In the raised bed:
2 cucumber
5 pea vines
1 cherry tomato
1 big boy tomato
1 yellow bell pepper
1 red bell pepper
2 zucchini
3 broccoli
2 strawberry
4 red cabbage
1 eggplant
...and in a container on the patio:
1 basil
1 dill

The Plano Railway Museum
More spring break fun at the Plano Railway Museum! Walker attended a story-time for kids at the museum and afterward, was treated to a tour of the red train car. You can see him below in the window at the helm!
Here's Walker (in the aqua striped shirt) at story time with the other children.
You can see Grandma Patty in the background reading about Plano City history.
Charlie and I sat outside the train car to cuddle and drool.

Grandma Patty and Charlie Meet!
When Charlie was a few months old, John and Patty planned a visit to Dallas to meet Charlie. Unfortunately, Grandma Patty was unable to come because her mother was ill. Now Patty's mother is doing well and Patty has an opportunity to meet Charlie!

Today, we spent the morning out and about in Uptown Dallas.
Here we are waiting for the M Street Trolley!
And one very excited Walker Starr.
Fun With Grandpa John and Grandma Patty
So much fun to have the Virginian grandparents in town! Yesterday we all enjoyed the beautiful weather at the Arboretum, where the Dallas Blooms Festival is in full swing.
(I accidentally posted this to my Smaller Sarah blog earlier today. I meant for it to go HERE!)
This spring at the Arboretum, they've constructed miniature artist's homes.
Below of course is the home of Monet.
...and Picasso, of course.
...and George Seurat.
You can see Walker in the doorway!
Charlie enjoyed himself as well.
We stopped for a picnic at the amphitheater where Walker ran up and down the hill a few times.
And finally, a yummy lunch in the red wagon with Daddy!
