A Nap, A Drive, A Picnic

Here are some photos from the past few days.  Jack snapped some shots of Charlie sleeping in the funniest position.  He seemed quite comfortable, though.

Jack had Monday evening off, so we took a drive west of Cedar City to visit the monument at Mountain Meadows.  This is the site of a massacre in where on September 11, 1857, a hundred and twenty people traveling from Arkansas to California as part of the Fancher-Baker wagon train were brutally slaughtered by the local Mormon militia.  Its a pretty gripping story.

Then we continued south west towards St. George and drove through Snow Canyon, a gorgeous expanse of white and pink cliffs which rise out of black basalt rock.  Its all created by ancient lava flow.  Just spectacular!

The following day, after Walker's swim class, we headed to library park for another round of free lunch and activities!  Walker was so excited he couldn't sit down.

Bear crawl.

Time to tie up all the girls.  This was Walker's idea.  The ladies don't look impressed.

Walker's first crack at Simon Says.

We're one week away from leaving Cedar City!  Jack's shows are already in previews and the audiences are, thus far, very pleased!

Happy Birthday Grandma Betsy!

Coming to a Theater Near You!

Bryce Canyon

Jack had the day off and we decided it would be fun to get out of town and explore some of Southern Utah's treasures.  I suggested the FLDS polygamist community of Colorado City, but Jack thought that we might not be welcomed there.  So we went with Jack's much better suggestion of Bryce Canyon.  Here are the photos from our day.  It was awesome!

Happy Birthday Uncle Joel!

We love you so much and wish we could hyper-space you out of Chicago for a big birthday bash where as Walker said, "We could make Uncle Joel a cupcake and take him to the pool."  Hope you have a beautiful birthday - 32 is a good year!

...and remember this from 2009?

Picnic at the theater!

Jack had a short dinner during his tech rehearsals yesterday, so the boys and I met him at the theater for a picnic dinner.  Perfect!
