Charlie took a quick snooze today on my lap while in a lawn chair at a party. We were surrounded by screaming children, but Charlie drifted easily to sleep and caught a little shut eye. Sweet boy.

Funny conversations:
Mommy enters wearing a towel on her head.
WALKER:
Mommy? Why are you wearing that hat?
MOMMY:
Because I am a queen.
WALKER:
I want to be a queen too!
laughter and light chuckling from Daddy
WALKER:
No... I really really do!
Here is the result!

The Outdoor Report
These photos were taken almost a month ago in our backyard by my friend Michelle, whose daughter, Evy, is a frequent playmate of Walker's. Thanks, Michelle, for capturing such beautiful images of Walker enjoying his backyard this spring!

Curly?
Every time Charlie gets out of the bath tub, his hair goes all curly-q.
Here he is, fresh from the tub showing off his little curly mop.
Once Charlie was out, it was only a matter of time before this little dust bunny got in.

Happy Easter!
We had a beautiful humid 80 degree Easter morning. Walker heard a knock at the door this morning and Mom saw a bunny hopping away from the house. But when Walker opened the door to see who was there, all he found was this Easter basket!
Charlie has quite the appetite these days, so we spend a lot of time in this chair munching on apples, pear, sweet potatoes, brown rice, a little chicken, carrots, beans and squash! We have a bevy of holiday bibs that we use all year round - the Halloween one was the only clean bib to be found in the drawer this morning.
We spent the afternoon with the Smith Family. They invited us over for some good old fashioned egg dying. Walker and Mackey stripped down so that the inevitable drips and spills wouldn't ruin their Easter garb.

Who loves a treat?
Walker loves a treat! Tonight, after dinner, Jack and I decided to take Walker out for a treat. There is a Krispy Kreme doughnut shop not too far from our house and we knew we could find something yummy for Mr. Walker - and ourselves, of course. Walker loved watching the conveyor belt of doughnuts pass by the big window and slip under the wall of icing. The guy was selling these doughnuts hot off the line. Walker chose the doughnut with "freckles", which we understood to mean "sprinkles". Yum yum yum.
Charlie had another kind of sugar in store. This little dough boy has been a ball of giggles lately. He loves being tickled and kissed and rasberried and goosed and canoodled.
Earlier in the day, Walker painted a pot for our front porch. I let him pick out whatever color he wanted and he chose a very similar aqua to the color on our door. He proclaimed, "It will be beeeeeeee-utiful." I'll catch a photo of the final product later!

Our Village
Our garbage disposal went kaput last week, and our dear friend, Aubrey Power of the illustrious Power Family, came to our rescue. He spent the morning installing our new disposer and changing out the crusty old pipes for shiny new ones! He brought his daughter Eleanor (who was one of my first doula babies) to help out.
Yesterday, the Smiths came over for an afternoon romp in the back yard. The adults enjoyed much deserved gin and tonics while Mackey and Walker played with sand and water.
Here is our savior and his assistant - the littlest plumber.

Sweet baby Chashel giving a grin!
Mackey just celebrated her 2nd birthday last week...
(Another one of my doula babies!)
Proud papa!
