Trolleys and Trains

Another fantastic day with Gramie Betsy!  Trolley ride, lunch and a trip to the book store.  Charlie hung out in Mama's sling both napping and watching the world go by.  A good time was had by all!

After a thwarted attempt at napping, Walker hit the tracks.  Here he is playing trains in the back room while Charlie has an appointment with his physical therapist in the front room.

Here's the pitch!

Here's the pitch...

He eyes the ball...

He runs to first...

He runs to second...

He runs to third...

He's safe at home!

And he takes a bow!

The crowd goes wild!  Or in Charlie's case... the crowd stares blankly.

Uh oh... somebody has a diaper.

Ah... new diaper, dry clothes.  That's better.

Jack is still in Milwaukee... so Jack, hope you're having a beautiful day of tech rehearsal as you round the corner into opening week of "A Christmas Carol".  Don't worry, the back yard ball game will probably still be on when you return.  We love you... xo - your sweet ones

Exploring Turtle Creek

Its a crisp autumn day, in the mid 50's and clear as a bell.  Jack is off to Milwaukee for the week to finish out his contract with Milwaukee Rep as text coach for "A Christmas Carol".  Betsy and I are on our own with the boys!  Charlie has been sleeping so well these past few weeks and last night he slept from 9pm until 6am!  I am amazed.  I know it probably won't last, but I'm enjoying it none-the-less.  Here is a shot of Charlie just before waking this morning.  For a tiny baby, he sure takes up a lot of space on the bed.

Here is Charlie, awake, out and about.  We decided to take advantage of this amazing weather and walk along the northern stretch of Turtle Creek in Highland Park.

Gramie Betsy and Walker found a giant stone teddy bear!

This was my vest, when I was three years old.  Looks pretty good on him, eh?

Playing hide and seek around the tree.

Hugs for mommy!  This ended up being a ploy for me to carry
him back to the car instead of walking.  I'm such a sucker.

Pub lunch!

Back home for a little face time with Charlie Baird.

We miss you Daddy!

Smiles for Grandma Betsy

Betsy caught these sweet smiles this morning on camera.

Head Control

Over the last two days, Charlie has been holding his head up!  Its really exciting given his physical challenges with the stroke.  Here are some photos of this amazing feat!

Walker has been on a kissing mission today.  He loves to love on his brother.  And Charlie loves it too!  He giggles and grins when Walker starts in with his smothery, wet kisses.

Sometimes I give Walker a little ear massage to help him relax before bed time.  So he's started doing it to Charlie.  I love it!

Here are a few shots of Walker at the park today.  Uncle Joel and Grammie Betsy took him on a walk to our neighborhood playground.  Its finally cold enough for Walker to show off his new coat!  (Thank you Grammie!)
