All Hallows Eve

I had planned to take Walker to a neighborhood carnival tonight, but he got hit with some pretty serious congestion today. So, instead, we stayed home and ate pasta marinara while we watched "Cars". We also hopped up every 5 or 10 minutes to run to the door and hand out candy to Trick-or-Treaters.

Here was our front door this evening:

And here was the loot bowl:

And here is our sweet, sick kid watching TV with his nose pressed to the screen. Remember all of those things I said I'd never let my kid do? Yeah, well... what are you going to do?

PS - Here is a picture of Walker from last Halloween.
What a difference, yeah?

Halloween Party!

We've had a long and lovely day. We dropped Daddy off at the airport at 5am - he's on his way to Milwaukee for a 10 day whirl wind of text and vocal coaching at Milwaukee Rep Theater. The show, of course, is Dickens' Christmas Carol. Then Walker joined me at work for 2 1/2 hours at the birth center, where he played nicely and helped me restock the birthing suite for our next delivery. He put all of his toys in a red bio-hazard bag usually reserved for placentas. By 10:30am we were at a Halloween Party, hosted by our weekly play group! Here are some great photos of the kiddos in their fabulous costumes. (Maybe I should have saved the bio-hazard bag for trick or treating!)

Crayons and Kilts

Walker frequently picks up a book and leafs through while "reading" aloud. I love to see him get cozy with a book, mimicking his Mama and Daddy. I caught him reading in a chair this morning and when I snapped the photo he gave me this look:

Walker also spends a little time everyday scratching out something with his crayons. He's still more interested in removing and replacing the crayons in in their box than actually drawing - but hey, whatever occupies the little guy is alright by me.

This morning we also attended our very first Halloween party! All of the kids had great costumes, but none were as authentic as Walker's. Pa John and Bubby Margie got all this gear from the source! Once I removed the kilt pin, we were ready to rock and roll!

More from our Seattle trip!

Growing up together.

Walker is only a few weeks away from his 2nd birthday. He's growing up so fast that it makes my head spin. We also have the pleasure of watching Miss Mackey's growth and development. She's with us four days a week and its hard to believe that she is almost 7 months old. Here is the dynamic duo - growing up together.

And just for fun... one of Lady M and me.
