Walker has a bike! We got it second hand from a gal online and Walker is, as you can see, very happy! So today, I thought I'd share a bit of Walker's latest and greatest. You already know that Walker is a book fan of the umpteenth degree and while he enjoys a variety of literature, there are a few titles that we read no less than five times a day.
The Giving Tree, which Walker calls "come boy" is
numero uno on the list. When the tree is alone, Walker says, "Where he go?" and when the boy comes back he says, "good boy." Other favorites include
Make Way for Ducklings, which Walker calls "The Man" in reference to Michael the Irish police man who helps the ducks make it safely home to the public garden. There's also
Casey at the Bat ("baseball book"),
A Mooose in the Hooose - a Scottish Counting Book, which Walker refers to as "aye
talkin talkin" because of a scene with some chatty rabbits. And finally
Lyle, Lyle Crocodile, which Walker calls "the
alligator book".
Favorite foods remain the same. This boy will do anything for a box of raisins or a cup of yogurt. He also loves meatloaf, rice pilaf,
broccoli (in a salad form - recipe below) and of course milk, milk, milk. When he's not eating or reading, which comprises most of his day, he spends his time making song requests. Jack is a big Peter Gabriel fan and a few weeks ago, Walker began reciting lines from Peter's songs. One in particular that Walker requests by name is called "Down Side Up". Sometimes, Walker will sing the lyrics in time with the music:
"Down side up, Up side down
Take my weight from the ground
Floating deep in the sky
Sinking into the unknown"
It's sort of crazy to hear a not-yet-two-year-old say, "sinking into the unknown". Does he say all of the words perfectly? No. But he says them clearly and sometimes even on pitch! I love it.
So,
that's out little world in a nutshell. Hope you're enjoying this lovely Wednesday and I promise we'll be back with our usual photo
programming soon. Cheers and enjoy this
