Jack's Mama, also known as Walker's beloved Grammie Betsy, just sent me some photos of Jack at about 12-18 months old. They're too good to keep to myself. The first is a shot of Betsy and Jack and the second is Jack with his Aunt B.
Recognize this vest? Yep... this vest was worn by my brother, Joel circa 1981. It was then worn by my cousins Terry and Mark and is now back for another round. Gotta love polyester! That stuff never wears out.
We were out again with our playgroup yesterday. This time we took the kids to the Children's Museum at Fair Park. Walker had a fabulous time. Here he is below "driving" a fire truck! The museum has a very cool farm. The kids can milk a cow, grow corn, take their produce to market and ride tractors and horses. What's not to love? Here's Walker and his best bud, Mosley on the rocking horses. Here are all the kiddies in our playgroup getting seriously wet. Notice Walker is the only one NOT in protective gear. This is how we roll - strip him down and let him go wild!
Here we are back at home selecting a book. This boy LOVES to read.

Up until now, only registered users could leave comments on Walker's blog. No longer! Anyone - even you, mom - can leave comments if they wish. I look forward to hearing from you!
When my Mom was here, we did a mini makeover on our patio. Its Walker's new favorite place. His favorite thing is to touch the Buddha and say "Bood-ah". Then he goes over to the side table where the Willendorf Goddess is sitting and says "Mama". Real funny Walker. Unfortunately, leaving the patio is a tearful goodbye.
After having an early dinner on the town with Grandma Connie, we all headed to a neighborhood park to see what kind of fun we could we rustle up. Walker gets a kick out of watching all the kids jump, run, prance, skip and monkey around at the park. Here he is below on the jungle gym.
He LOVES the slide! And of course, he'd sit in the swing all day if we let him. There was a group of guys shooting hoops at the park. Walker thought he'd pitch in...
Grandma Connie arrived yesterday for a quick visit. She and Walker spent the day reading, walking and exploring the grounds of our apartment complex. Here are a few goodies from our first day together!
Pointing out the airplane ("airpoo") flying overhead.
Here's our little fish just after his evening bath!
Sunday. It was Jack's last day of spring break, so we thought we'd head to the Fort Worth Zoo - ranked 5th best zoo in the nation - for a little monkey business. This zoo rocks. We must have hit it just at the right time because every animal was out and happy and prancing around. Walker had a blast and so did we! Here is our little man communing with the animals:
Walker is 16 months old today. We spent the morning at the pediatrician's office measuring and immunizing. Walker is finally on to us and the jig is up... now he knows what happens at the pediatrician's office: mainly that when the cute blondie in the pink scrub with the little tray shows up, someone is getting stuck in the thigh. So we had some tears before making our exit. But Walker is super healthy and happy. Here are the stats that don't really mean anything: 23 pounds, 32 1/2 inches long. Head circumference is in the 20th percentile, weight is in the 20th percentile and height is in the 95th percentile. Here's a shot of our long, lean baby riding his new CAT truck (a gift from Daddy)!
Rule number one for keeping your son happy and entertained? Make a funny face! Here are some shots of my favorite dynamic duo and then some solo shots of Daddy putting on a show! All the world loves a clown!
